'96 FD Inexplicable shutoffs
Hello everybody!
My car shuts off once it's been running for a while and is hot, but there doesn't really seem to be any noticeable tells when it does. She'll be running strong, but will sometimes die when I come to a stop or shut off when I start to pull away. Sometimes I'll be cruising along and she'll die while I'm driving. Typically the car is fine during the trip from A to B, but starts having issues on the return trip from B to A.
Each time, the car will be running seemingly great, and then with no warning will shut off. Once it does die, it usually takes about 5 minutes or so before she'll turn back on. It'll crank over but it won't catch. (Flooding?)
Some background, I recently swapped out my spark plugs and wires for some fresh stock ones to address this same issue, and it seemed to do the trick for about a week. The car is stock, minus a few reliability mods.
Also, ever since I swapped out the plugs, the tachometer will occasionally wander around inaccurately. For example when pulling away from a stop, the tach will jump to around 5k and rise from there when I know I'm actually at 2k.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
Edit: My bad, I posted this here using the mobile site and didn't see most of the other forums! Sorry!
