CA 88 rx7 is sturborn like a angry horse!

ok heres the deal ... i was driving the fc from work ..and noticed after i slowed down the car was dragging .... then soon after i got home it was like it didnt want to move. i reved the gas and it stood still . so i dropped the clutch and it bearly moved forward. I panicked becuse soon after i let off the gas i smelled burnt cluth. question ppl... is this a tranny problem ......i looked at the tranny oil and it was almost out ... i refilled it and it drained out trough a hole in the bell housing... ( yes i know it sounds like i solved my own question) but the wheels wont move at all. It will start sure as day until i release the clutch. that gear shifter moves smoothly but the rear wheel wont roll at all. is it possibley the diff???

CA ok but hear this ...

The car won't move even if the tranny is in neutral as in trying to push the car from one spot to another is what I mean of not moving. When I take the drivetrain apart ill see if the clutch is bad.but I fear it may be the diff.or the tranny shaft. When I mean the rear wheels are froze ..towing will have to be done from the front. When I release the clutch pedeal the engine stalls out ...and the car sits still like a stubborn horse lol( jerks a bit and dies).ill overlook it and see.

sounds actually like the lack of fluid in the trans has caused bearing and other parts to seize. he said oil was coming from the bell housing so probably means the input shaft seal is bad. to determine whether it's the tranny or diff., remove the drive shaft and then see how the car rolls. if the driveshaft is out and you start the engine then release the clutch if the motor dies the tranny is probably locked up

Wink hey its fixed

the tranny was fused inside and was actually making the motor rotate as we pushed it onto the trailer ... it was so frustrating ... the clutch plate just gave way from the heat produced from the frozed tranny . but its all better now
