NE 85 12a to 13b swap

Hi, I'm new to the site so hopefully I'm posting properly

I'm swaping motors due to overheating the original. wondering what yall would recommend doing for fuel.

FI set up (stock) is on the 13b but not really sure how expensive or where to find pcm/ecu and wiring to make the car FI. wondering if it would be cheaper to swap FI for carb set up and what parts can be reused from the 12a motor?

Any advice is helpful and all input is welcome. thanks

I can say carb to FI has been done many times. Check in the first gen specific forum. There are a LOT of wiring challenges and parts you will need. You can go aftermarket like megasquirt or you could grab a wiring harness/ECU and parts from a GSL-SE or even S4 or S5. I had an SE for many years and loved the FI. I think it also helps with the fuel mileage. Good luck with your build.

EFI sucks. I've tried it. Wasn't worth it in the end. I recommend a carb. Modded stock Nikki to be precise. That's what I have on my 13B. Drives like modern EFI and makes more power than I really need. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.
