Alright im new to this forum and new to cars. But I have found a pretty good deal on a 83 rex and was wondering before I pick it up what rotary engines are possible for a swap without having to rebuild the engine compartment.... and if possible what engines have the best gas mileage... any help would be apreciated thx

 

do a search for granny's speed shop if you are interested in piston engine swaps. Ford, Chevy, and even Nissan engine conversion kits I believe are ready. You can swap in a 13b from a GSL-SE or 2nd gens which is relatively easy and doesn't require modification to the engine compartment if you get a 13b engine mount adapter plate which Racing Beat sell along with getting a front cover and oil pan from a GSL-SE to get the motor in itself without having to fab anything up. All in all you can basically swap any engine you could imagine into an rx7 or any car for that matter, just all would depend on time and money.
