Most likely the next RX-7 will be a two rotor non turbo version renesis engine. The only difference with the RX-8 engine is that is has more displacement. Call it 14C Renesis as opposed to 13B Renesis. That means 10mm wider than than the 13B. Here's an excerpt from rotary news.
Mazda has always increased rotor width (similar to increasing cylinder bore and stroke in a conventional piston engine) in 10mm steps. The 10A engine had 60mm wide rotors, the 12A went to 70mm and the 13B twin and 20B triple rotor were 80mm, so it's a pretty safe bet the new rotors will go to 90mm."

3 rotor would be nice for us but I doubt it will meet ultra low emission standards like the 2 rotor does. I will be more than happy to see a new n/a rx-7 with a little better torque output.
