1990 Rx7 tranny problem

I just bought a Rx-7 two days ago, the first one I have ever owned. Tonight I was going to go for a drive and after I turned the car on it would not go into gear. I turned the car off and tried to put it into gear and it worked. I then started the car and drove it and I could shift into gears. As I was driving the shifting became harder and then I was unable to shift into gears again. I turned the car off and I could put it into gear. I drove some more, shifting was fine then all the sudden it did it again. During all of this I hear a little squeeking and very little chatter. Does anyone know what this could be? I am thinking the throw out bearing. By the was the shifter seems to have alot of play in it also.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Clutch master or slave, check for leaking fluid. Pump the pedal really fast for like 2 minutes and see if that helps in shifting.

I check the clutch master and slave and they are fine, no leaking. Could it be a pilot bearing or throwout bearing?

pilot bearing would make horriffic noise as would throwout.Master cylinder leaks down the inside of firewall behind carpet and may not be noticeable, how's your fluid?have you tried bleeding?maybe have someone work the clutch while you watch the slave to see if it moves. Also you might pull the shifter and check that there is oil in the shifter housing, but 999 times out of a thousand its the clutch hydraulic system causing this

Also, you may want to check your tranny fluid, it can get a little notchy if low on fluid or needs a fluid change
