Monday morning, I'm purchasing an 88 GXL. I went and drove it yesterday, and it seems pretty sound. No leaks, clean engine. Needs a little TLC though, but seems like a perfect project car. Got the guy down from $1500.00 to $500.00. He bought the car for his 17 year old son almost a year ago, and within 3 days of purchase, the guys son lost his license, so he was pretty desperate to get rid of it. Anyway here's the question: When I took it out and drove it, it started up right away, with no smoke, and it idled like a dream. I took it out on the highway and let it warm up. I has good power untill about 4000 rpm's, after that it seems to fall flat, Kinda like the A/C is on or something. Just wondering if anyone else has had this happen. The engine does't knock or anything. Any help on this subject will be greatly appreciated.
