Question 1985 Rx-7

Im about to get my first car (in about 4 days)I have driven the car and the only think i know about it is its a 1985 red Mazda RX-7.I dont know about the gse or whatever but if its the slower of the 1985's is it still fast? I want to race it but i dont know if its fast enough and dont know if i can even put a supercharge on it.Also,What the hell does FD mean?
Thanks

okay, basics of bringing you up to speed:
1) Welcome to rx7club.com. The first rule is you do not talk about rx7club.com.
2) Read the FAQs, they know all, and will often answer your questions faster than someone else can.
3) FB = First gen Rx7, from 1978(?)-1985, FC=2nd Gen, 1986-1990/1, FD = 3rd gen, 1991 and up
4) Fast/Reliable/Cheap. Pick any two.
5) If this is your first rx7, you have to play with your wankel all the time

Get the car and learn to drive it before you race, if your first car was an FD and your intent was to race it I guarantee you would be in the hospital after a week.
