1983 12a runs like crap

i have a 1983 rx7 12a. i drove it home from where i got it and it was not pretty. For starters it needed to be reved up to about 3k to let clutch out with out killing it. I replaced the plugs, plug wires, fuel filter. I cleaned the carb and am lost now.

Check in the FAQ in the first gen section. Could be a vac leak, or even a bad engine. Pull the spark plugs, crank over by hand and see if there is a noticable difference in the pulses. They should be even, and cosistent.
