13BT in other mazdas??

Are there any other mazda's that use the same s4 13BT in their cars? I got a source on a 13bt, but the guy said that i have to change the intake and exhaust because the motor came off a sedan in japan? Does this make any sense to anyone?

Thank You, Ut

Maybe a Eunos Cosmo with the 13BTT. Sequential Turbo. I know a few people have done the swap. It's pretty much the same, except the exhaust ( TT Manifold ) and the upper intake is different.

The 86-91 HC Luce (pronounced Loo-chay, aka Mazda 929) was sold in Japn with the Series 4 13BT (auto only), but it's exactly the same engine as in the RX-7. No manifold changes are required, only a gearbox and clutch.

You need to replace the flexplate and torque converter with a flywheel and clutch, but the rest is the same.

There's a duct on the underside of the hood that pics up air from in front of the radiator. Not great but better than nothing.

Yup, motor mounts are different. Oil pan would not clear, several misc sensors (oil p., water temp etc) water neck/thermostat housing, ac and powersteering are reversed. I just put a luce 13b turbo in my 1988 s4 n/a. Overall fairly straightforeward (so far). Motor and trans are mounted in car. Going back down to parents house in a week or so after exams to wire engine, replace all vaccuum lines, ecu and exhaust. Using na wiring harness after weirdly rereading hailers posts over and over again until everything was memorized. Hopefully no issues with luce engine, i ordered it from corksport who said compression is great. We will see in a couple of weeks.

sorry to revive an old post, just wanted offer some more info to the "luce" searchers.
