no problem this is the same setup I have on my race car. I am using 93 rotors(lightest) and housings, 87 side housings and e-shaft.

Thanx TIMS
So i can replace my 87TURBOII rotors with the 93rotors. Is there a reason why you are using 3rd gen rotor housings??..

One more question. Some peeps from this forum said that the low compression turbo rotors are the best for turbo application. Is there a reason why high compression turbo rotors are less better than low comp rotors??..

the '93 and later rotors are lighter, everything else the same. the reason I used this combination was these were the parts I had available. only other thing you may need to do is have the whole assembly with flywheel balanced( I would do this with any engine rebuild but especially with the combination of parts). the lower compression rotors allow you to safely run more boost without detonation, but either will work fine.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I beleive 89-91 rotors are the same as 93-95 rotors

earlier rotors are cast, and 93 are machined. you can ue 93 in an earlier motor.

Tims, is right they are the same geometric speaking and can be interchanged no problem ... I run them in my 13BT.

They are much lighter, use the front and rear counterweight from that generation and no balance problems will result.

The compression is 9:1 V's 8.5:1 for the 13BT rotors

The latest series, I think 99 onwards ? REW engines have 9.2:1 compression for even more power.

9:1 are perfect for street and high boost and you will have a more powerfull engine due to much lower rotating mass and due to higher compression over 13BT rotors.

You can still use your light flywheel but the rear counter weight will have to be changed. If you are going to have every thing balanced the rear counter weight can be balanced with the new assembley.

The turbo motors have>>>
86 to 88 13BT 8.5:1 compression with cast combustion pockets.
89 to 90 13BT 9.0:1 compression with both cast and machined
combustion pockets.
93 to 95(USA)13B-REW 9.0:1 compression with machined combustion pockets.
The e-shaft on the 13B-REW motor is different from the earlier shafts because they come with extra clearance on the outer side of the mains both front and rear from the factory. Also these shafts feature undercut rotor and main bearing clearances. There are many sizes of bearings that come to fit the REW shaft that can't even slide on to the earlier shafts so be carefull and check your clearances.
