13bre visual diff.

Just wondering if any visual cues other than the intake are existant on the 13bre from the 13bt. Reason being I bought a car that is said to have a 13bre but I just want to make sure.

Post up some pics!

The normal T2 intakes manifolds will not bolt onto a RE or REW block, so if you have T2 intake manifolds....you got hosed.

RE blocks have an oil return that goes through the rear iron for the twin turbos, check the rear iron to see if they have a block off plate made up for it.

Yeah, the lower intake manifold will not match very nicely.
The 13B-RE secondaries are supr huge!

The 13B-REW from an FD has this hole too.

You might want to check the oil pan and the sides of the motor...
Unless they went through all the trouble to redrill the irons to accomodate the FC or FD stock engine mounts, the 13B-RE uses side brackets to mount to the engine cradle.

Yea Ted your right, the REW motors also have the oil return hole in the rear iron
Also a good point, look for custom engine mounts.

Hmmm..I'm starting to think I got hosed, but anyways, is it possible it could be an RE internal engine? (yeah, you can sort it out...sort of)

internal, as in rotors and eshaft and stationary gears ? , The big bonus is the irons in the RE motor, The internals are very similiar to the S5 13bt .

IF the person told you it has a 13b re block , and it turns out to be 13bt block I highly dount there would be any 13bre in it.

another visual cue:
the oil cooler line on the rear iron is located on or right below the oil pedistal, not at the botom of the housing like an FC. i'm not sure if FD housings ar like this or not.

Cosmo 13B-RE and FD 13B-REW uses the same oil cooler location.

Yes, both are different from the FC 13B(T).
