13b REW info

Ok I was just sold a motor thats suppose to be a 13b REW with S4 intake/exhaust and turbo. Couple questions. How do I tell if its a genuine 98 13b REW and whats the diff between that motor and just a run of the mill 13bt?

13bt vs. 13b-REW.... Larger intake ports. Take the S4 intake manifold off and the intake ports on the manifold should be quite a bit smaller than the ports on the engine (unless it was matched to it). Another way to tell is by the presence of a serpentine belt system. That sounds like a pretty flaky deal to me.... Why would someone go to the trouble to put a REW into a S4? With the S4 intake and turbo setup, if the intake ports are unmatched and the turbo is a factory S4 turbo, they'd barely be making any HP gains (maybe 50hp tops). Hmmm......
