13b engine numbers ?
hi there all,
im converting my vw to a rotary engine soon.
can any one please help advise me on early 13 b 74/75 year model engines numbers!
what did the 74/75 engine year start with the engine number please ?
reason being im wanting to to fit a early year engine plate for engineering/rta purpsoses which have not much pollution gear.
the 1973 beetle had no pollution gear what so ever!
thanks
glen

well besides the part number, none of the US literature mentions an engine number. here you would need to look at some original cars.
from 9/73 to 10/74 the engine part number was 1757-23-200. 13B, big port, non nitrided, so black irons, the big font Mazda rotor housings. in the US we get a thermal reactor.
10/74 and later the part number is 3565-23-200. should be the "mazda automobiles" rotor housings. smaller ports. still non nitrided, so irons will still be black
