13b cooling system question

I have a Franklin 2-bolt electric water pump adapter for my 13B engine and am using a Craig Davies electric water pump. My engine has a street port, headers, and will have a Weber carb. The engine is going in a "kit car" that will weigh about 1600 pounds. I am working on the coolant plumbing and have this question:

On the photo the normal coolant flow would be coming from the electric water pump and going in to the "B" side of the water pump adapter plate. Then the "A" port would go to the top of the radiator. Is this correct?

My plumbing would be much easier (and look better) if I reversed those two and had the "B" side go to the radiator and the "A" side hook-up to the pump outlet. I have reverse cooled small block Chevrolet V-8's in the past and they actually cooled as well, if not better. Has anyone done this on a rotary? Will it work OK or will it cause problems?..........Thanks for your help...............MNROTOR

so the thing with the Mazda rotary is that the cooling system is front to rear, like a normal piston engine, but the rotor housing has uneven heating, its too hot around the spark plugs and exhaust ports, but its too cold by the intake ports

you might look through the book, http://foxed.ca/rx7manual/manuals/RE...amoto-1981.pdf

Thanks.............from that diagram it looks like the lower temp coolant coming from the bottom of the radiator, then to the pump goes first to the spark plug side of the engine which is a hot area. Based on that, I guess it would be a bad idea to reverse flow the coolant. I guess I'll stick with the stock direction and just solve how to properly route the radiator hoses.

A side question..................I see you have a similar engine (13B, street port, header). I have not made a choice for my intake system. You have a Holley 600CFM. I am looking at Racing Beat's Holley 600 set-up and also their Weber set-up. How do you like the Holley? Any other advice on the intake manifold and carb?

(edited because redundant dogpile re: cooling system}

IMO the best intake system is the dual DCOE setup, but the straight-on single DCOE (not the wraparound type) is the second best.

I’ve seen where somebody had the flow reversed in the radiator; hot coolant coming from the engine in the correct direction, but into the lower radiator port and then the EWP up by the top port to pump it back into the engine. Intentionally not stating my reasons for mentioning it just to see what other people might think or have to say about it without being influenced.
