12a turning slow please help

So I have an 84 Mazda pickup with a 12a and it’s turning over very slowly I don’t have a battery at the moment and I really don’t wanna put any money into it until I hear it fire but I was curious if anyone knew what could cause it to turn slow if there were any common issues it’s an older motor idk exactly what year but I’m thinking late 70s early 80s

I’ve been using either a jump pack or a battery jumper on wheels as my battery

oh, well that might be the problem. this battery jumper on wheels u have one of those like i have that's a starter/charger with the 200 amp start function? that might work but with no battery in the car it might not. seems i tried that once a long time ago and it just doesn't work without a battery in there too.
