Can anyone tell me the years for 13Bs (early and late) and 12A. I've been talking to a guy on the interenet that says that he has a '80 13B engine out of an RX7. I thought the only 13B 1st gen's were the '84-85 GSL-SE. He quotes out of the "Mazda RX7 Performance book" that also states that 79-85 1st gens are considered 13Bs. I've never heard/read any of this.

 

He's wrong. 12A's in all 79-85 RX7 models. And you're right, the 84-85 GSL-SE models had fuel injected 13B's.

There were early 4 port 13B's like in the REPU's, and some of the older RX cars.

 

Thanks, but does anyone have exact years and models for the 12A and 13B. Was there any 13Bs built/sold in 1980?
