The mighty Fraser which originates in the Rockies 800 miles away was very serene today. Last year at this time it flooded about half the valley causing likely over $4 billion damage and taking out all our major highways linking to the rest of Canada.

Final stop was at Historic Fort Langley, a Hudson's Bay Company outpost built about 1830. We were hogging the tour bus parking spot, but the tourists did not seem to mind. I was surprised to discover statue behind the cars commemorates "The Beaver", the first steamship on the Westcoast. My Great-Grandfather was the engineer on that ship.
