air pump removal??

OK I have a question. I need to know if anyone has any pics or advice on removing the air pump on my T2.
I have the block off plate and the dual alternator pulley, I am just wondering if anyone has any advice on the removal and reconnection.
Thanks,
Josh

Removal of the air pump is easy. Just pull off the belts and hoses, unbolt it and remove it! The block-off plate is for the ACV, and that’s just as easy. Just pull off the three vacuum lines and one electrical plug, undo the three nuts and pull the ACV off. Remove the three studs and use shorter bolts to install the block-off plate with a little high-temp sealant or a stock ACV gasket. Cap the three vac lines with rubber caps. The boost sensor line used to come off the AVC, so you’ll need to tee it into the BOV vac line. Here’s my pic.

I think this is a driving instructors car, must have dual brake system. Or he has a mod: when your wife slams her foot on the floor...the brake really works!

Yeah. The master brake cylinder mod. I think I saw it on Ted's site. Then again, maybe I didn't. Slow day.

sorry to bring this back, but I just went and removed my pump. I ordered my dual pulley, but I was wondering if it's safe to drive it for a few days without the other belt driving the water pump? also, what do I do with the hose that went into the air pump? It kind of sits right near the engine and wraps around real tight to attach to the air pump, but I didn't want to leave it just hanging out. thanks

I just got my car put back together with no extra pulley work, and so far it isn't making any squealing or showing signs of cavitation. Only problem is it idles HARD and LOW when it's cold. I mean, lumpy... sounds like a cammed musclecar. And it only revs around 500-600 RPm. Is it safe to screw and unscrew adjustments? I've heard you can get into a lot of problems if you put an adjustment out of whack. THanks again

RestoTII it's safe to run with the single belt as long as you don't take high RPMs, that's when it slips.

How about if I get the split air cover and block that off, then block off the pipe in front that used to go to the air pump? Do you see anything wrong with that?
