the coil-overs were ~$100 from Ground control.

The jackstands were $20 from Sears

Okay... 8" springs... I'm guessing 300-350lb/in?

I think I can reverse engineer that kit Everything except for the shocks. Maybe use 200lb-in 10" springs

I'm pretty sure it's just 100 posts.

The $100 was just for the threaded spring perches. The whole kit cost more than that..

It's basically everything from this page:
http://www.ground-control.com/gcrx7cat.htm

The rate for the fronts are 350#, the struts for the front are actually off an Mr2 I beleive(part #BZ1086). They are supposed to work better for high spring rates than the normal Illuminas for 1st gens (good up to about 300#)

We're not sure what rate the rears are. anyone know how to decode GC's numbering scheme?

Give me the number off of the spring

BTW - you can get coilover conversion kits for $40 a pair from most roundy-round suppliers, and springs for $30 or so each for 2.5x8" springs, any rate you want. I can duplicate that for $100 in parts

afco has a lot of this type stuff for little $$$ and you can choose all of your rates etc. i don't think they'll have that aluminum hat though.

The hard part will be making the seat that the threaded collar slides onto and keeps the whole thing centered... that's probably worth the additional $60 No need for that if one's willing to do a bit of cutting and welding though...

You mean the camber/caster plate?

Heck just make your own... everyone has a milling machine right?

actually, these require cutting and welding too. The stock spring perch will be hacked off, and if you look at the second picture, you can see a steel collar and doghnut looking piece. Those will be welded onto the housing at the 6.5" point on the tape measure.

Then I want to paint it all all about the same red as the springs.

Okay, Plan B - I'll use some spare Honda Accord springs I have laying around, and measure some Scirocco performance struts I have laying around to see if they'll fit in the RX-7 strut housing

I just gots all SORTS of parts around here...

not the camber plate, the part on top of the spring in the front sus mod pic. but they don't have the camber plates either and i have no access to a milling machine, just a plasma torch set for 22-18 ga steel. guess i could cut a bunch and weld them all together.
