I was thinking about getting that setup for my blow-through setup, but the cost adds up pretty quickly.

You have to get a computer, injectors, fuel pump, etc. etc..........

I think it is a great set-up, maybe when I win the lottery.

You can get that for nearer $325. Manifold price is about right though.

These are GOOD BTW.

Bill,
Where else can you get that stuff. I looked for a manufacturer and came up empty.

Has anyone ever tried one of these FI throttle body setups? I looked at this before going to the stock 90 manifold on my 13b.

Logically, it should make more power than a Weber since there are no venturies for the air to go through but it isn't tuned for the resonance supercharging effect that the stock systems use.

I'd think these would be better for very high RPM power over a 90 intake, but not as good for low and mid torque. Also, judging by my own experience with a Weber, it probably has some steady state stumble issues.

Not sure what you mean by this. The stumble would be a tuning issue with the Weber which can be hard to get running smoothly on light load/light throttle cruising. Why would the EFI setup have any such problems?

I say this because the stumbling at light throttle is flow speed related.

EFI systems have an adjustable accel shot to prevent stumbles.

Having run a 50DCOE TB on my car I can safely say that you can tune it to run better than you could ever imagine.

Actually the Webers have some idle/low speed issues with them. The Mikunis and some of the other clones however do not. Some is in the tuning and some is by design.

Of course it's flow speed related (isn't almost everything when it comes to carb tuning? ) but the actual problem is in the tuning and design of the carb. With my IDA I had some extra transition holes drilled into the body of the carb which helped driveability a lot as well as heaps of time on the dyno to get it dialled in properly.

Anyway, the low RPM flow issue is one of intake flow speed and flow momentum, which whould be better with a longer intake track, so my question again is has anyone tried these throttle body injection systems and how do they compare to a stock S4 or S5 intake?

OK Got a price. This guy was going to be a dealer for the stuff shown on that ebay add, but instead went TWM. The price for a system as shown (body, horns fuel rail) but including TPS is $500. NB the fuel rails aint cheap, so if you can fab your own you can save nearly $100.

Guys email is timstoys@earthlink.net

For reference. An IDA inlet like that, with a street port will give you around 180HP at the wheels with a torque curve as flat as a flat thing from 3k-8k

good analogy.. I wouldn't have come up with that one on my own

Man, that's still pretty.. a friend of mine locally runs the perf injection setup on his TurboII 1st gen and swtiching to that gained him like 40hp... (387 at teh wheels total )
