Hey, I just got an 88 TII for free a few nights ago and its pretty beat up. Just thought I'd take some pics cause pics are fun. Before you say anything about the engine pics... Yes I took out all the stuff thats missing. Anyway, once I get it all working and cleaned up I'll post pics again.

Where did you find it? Bottom of a lake? It looks like it has algae all over it!

That is so sad to see, kind of like watching animal precinct. It looks like an abused, starved, and beaten little puppy dog. If I were you, I would gut it, clean it up a little, weld in a roll cage, and take it rallying! That would be awesome! If you don't want to do it, give it to me!

Bah, other than the algae (mold, whatever ) it looks like it's fine...I didn't notice any body damage...as for it not starting, that means that he'll have to figure out what's wrong with the motor, fix it, and maybe replace the motor...which is what? $2K or so? Not a bad deal, seeing as I paid around 3500 total for my '89 Vert...

It probably shorted out from whatever flood/river/ocean it was driven into. I'd check the fuses/replace the battery/clean all the connections/and probably pour some oil into the chambers, lord knows what that engines seen inside of it!

If it was flooded, the computer is probably shot. Where can I get a good engine for 2K? More around 3k with a couple mods and shipping.

Best bet on an engine for 2k would be to get a j-spec and have it sent to Kevin Landers to get rebuilt.

i doubt the car was really flooded. that's just what happens to a car when you let it sit in washington state. as long as it's within 20ft of some trees anyway. good look getting rid of the smell. it took my about a year and a half to rid the smell of molding car from my '74 charger.

what i would do is just strip it to the bone and clean what you want to keep outside of the car and clean off everything underneath. or just leave it stripped out and make a race car

part it out, no way. what parts to do you need addict? heh. that car is fine except the interior and probably a blown motor.. possibly just flooded/seized. i would have to personally drive to kirkland and take that car if his intentions were to part it out.

I spy what looks like a FCD, does the car have any mods on it? Where did it come from and what happened to it anyway?

did the previous owner know about rx7s? It seems like it, because someone who knows about rotaries would not have just given it away for free, even with a blown motor. I bet if you clean it all up and do some relatively minor servicing, it will start without a rebuild. Keep us posted!

Just look at it, it's almost postive that it was either driven into a body of water, or was involved in a FLOOD OF WATER (not the damn engine flooded) Which is probably the reason why it doesn't run currently! Probably has fish swimming in the damn rotors!

No, I bet it wasnt driven into water or flooded. I have come across many a partscar that looked like that, some worse. IT just means it has sat in a field or under a tree in humid conditions. The stuff will usually clean up with hot water and a brush.

lol, Looks like a swamp monster ate it and **** it out.

Damn you though! You have a turbo now.

One thing I noticed though. Make sure you get a fan shroud if you don't have one.
That thing will cook without one.
