3 bar map sensor new part number

apparently the sensor for the 1989 turbo trans am, which is the actual vehicle with the 3 bar map sensor - not the grand national, has a new part number. i went to the dealer to get one and it was superceded with the following part number: 12223861. the connector number that was given on this site in another thread remained the same at 12085502. it is a three wire pigtail but all the wires are white. on the back of the sensor there are three letters C B A which i assume are the designations that are needed to be known for each wire. have to check nocab's post about the proper wiring.

Mine just arrived from http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/. This place charges a lot for shipping, but it seems trustworthy and the parts prices were by far the cheapest I found. It is probably as good a deal as you are likely to get overall, even with the expensive shipping.

The new part number (12223861) has the same list price and price as the old number (16040749). I wonder what the difference is.

The connector (12085502) just looks like a standard 3 conductor WeatherPack connector to me. I think you can get them cheaper at AutoZone or something, but this one comes pre-wired and even includes some butt connectors, so perhaps it is worth it for the convenience.

I posted my invoice details here:
https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...hreadid=162719

The total was $81.23 including shipping.

a customer of mine is a mechanic down the street at the local pontiac/gmc dealership. he got them at his cost.
the sensor lists at $98.15 --his cost $56.44
the connector lists at $28.76 --his cost $16.54

total w/tax $78.09

i guess it would have been the same as ordering from max's source, but i got it cheaper(na na na na naa na) anyways, good luck guys hope this is of help
