Nice find bro!!! I know that alot of people use the honda 51R battery and love it, but that one seems even better. I just wonder what the CCA are on it? But either way, very nice find.

Jeff,
Jon (SCRX7) linked me up with your new tray batch that you are making and I'm planning on picking one up. I wasn't sure of the availability of them though. Wanna clue me in??

I think Oddysey PC680 is good enough.
That is what I got, made my own alluminum tray. To fit like n-tech kit...gotta start the car every two weeks though to keep it alife...

If the 680 seems a little punky to you (you basically get one start) try the PC 925. You still save about 20 lbs over stock, and it is alot smaller. won't quite fit w/ an M2 large IC, but you'll save alot, and can fit in a trimmed-down stock battery tray. Can be had for about $100.

It's rated at only 280 cca's and 28 min RC. The 51R is about 500 cca's, and 80 min RC.
The #680 type batteries should have an internal metal jacket, for higher temperature rating for under hood use. Also convenient to get with sae posts, about $12 extra in this link.

this type of battery often does not come with metal jacket or sae posts.

I am using the 680MJ and tried to buy the replacement kit from N-Tech but he wouldn't sell it to me, since I didn't buy the battery from him.
I almost bought the the 925 ("link") but it looked even shallower than the 680 and I wanted it tied down. Well I had to use a hockey puck to tie down the 680 but it still comes loose with sprited driving and I don't have it tied down at all now.
TurboJeff: How bout making a tie down kit for the 925 and a relocation kit for the Honda 51R battery to the rear bin?

PC 925 Battery trays
Just in case anyone's interested, I made a few battery trays for my PC925 before I moved it into the storage bin... they fit the 925 perfectly when it's mounted on its side, and allow you to use the stock tie-downs.. If they'd be of interest to anyone, I'll give them away for the price of shipping. You can see pics HERE . PM me for more info.

built my own engine
what are the benefits of the SAE terminals?
I plan on relocating the battery...should I go through the trouble for the metal jacket? if i don't get SAE terminals (someone explain these...are these the ones i'm used to seeing on all batteries)
how do I use the screw on type?

FYI, Beware when you switch to a small battery, you might run into problems. I use the odessy 680. When i let the car sit for 5-6 days, I have to jump or re-charge my battery just to start the car. I think it's due to the factory alarm's drain on the battery. Although, I could be wrong and have some other battery drain elsewhere.
