catalytic converter???

hey guys..
i was just wonder sence my 5th and 6th are still in working condition, if there was anyway to eliminate my cat and have a straight pipe in the place. and have the line that runs to the airpump to the cat blocked off with a lil hole so it can make its own pressure so they open.. also how many psi does it take to open the 5 6 port? ive done alot of searching..

there is really no point in doing that.. take off your airpump.. throw on a straight pipe.. and just wire your ports open.. mine were working.. and when i did this i noticed 0 low end drop in performance

keep them working... your 6 ports run off you air pump. you can put any exhaust on you want and they will stick work as long as the air pump is on. the 86-88 ones work off exhuast pressure.

S5 aren't controlled by exhaust backpressure. S5s NAs use the airpump via a solenoid switched by the ECU.

In your sig you have a 90. 89-91's came from the factory using the airpump to open the 5th and 6th ports. just put your straight pipe on and if your ports are working correctly now they will continue to with the straight pipe.
