Before you head out to Groundzero..you might want to read this.

I wanted to give you guys the heads up about Groundzero Motorsports. Washington guys....you're realy going to hate this. The trip to GZ for you guys just got longer. However, for me its alot closer! For the past couple weeks, GZ has been in the process of moving to Tualitin/Tigard area. The old building was'nt bad or anything, but as many of you guys know, was pretty cramped with all the cars in there. The new building is massive compared to the last place. On the web page, it says the new building is 16k sq. feet!

I was talking to Ralph the other day, and he said that they are bringing in a C&C machine, lathes, etc. He had the dyno upgraded to a 4wd style dyno. While this does'nt effect us very much, it'll allow them to do Subura, audis, etc. He also said that they are getting a dyno for bikes too. I think he said it was going to be a dynojet....but I'm not 100% shure. When they get settled in, I would guess, they're going to start cranking out some new parts.

The new location is at 18091 SW lower boones fry. Rd. Tigard Oregon. Its right off I-5. It won't be such adventure for people like me, who run 3.5" straight through exhaust systems with very minimal muffling. I hated driving through Portland with my FD for that reason. Infact, I'm going to try to get up there, and take some pictures this next week. I need to stop at Bridgeport Village and get my wife something for Christmas anyways. Might as well make do something fun while I'm up there.

Anyways, just wanted to give you guys a heads up about the new shop. I know they are realy excited about the new building. They've put alot of time and $$ into it. I'm shure they would love to have people stop off and check it out.

Here's a link. www.Groundzeromotorsports.com

Later, CJ

Maybe once they are settled in, I could ask Ralph if he would like to do a dyno day. Set it up for a saterday or something. Keep it laid back, and fun. Maybe give out tours of the new building and stuff.....could be fun. CJ

do they work on 1st gens at all ?

I have been wanting a good shop to go through the carb/nest and find vacume leaks and make it run right again, maybe a good tune up and dyno it or something ?

I know one of the mechanics works one first gens. Give them a call at 503-256-3278. Chances are Chris Godwin would be doing the work on it. Well, atleast I'm guessing. CJ

Please, anybody stop by for a tour. We have been building and renovating the building for almost 2mos now to try to get ready. We have 2 eddy current dynos
in and enclosed sound proof room,bikes and cars, a full CNC machine shop for manufacturering components, And a 5000sqft show room. This is a huge undertaking and we still have about a month left to finish everything. Please anybody come on by. Thanks Ralph

Good move... the last place was in a crap-hole part of town. I'd love for HPF to leave the east side. :-/

I'll have to go bug the guys over there at the new place, that's pretty close to where I live.

GZ Move

Bad news for some, great news for me!

I live in Beaverton, and trailer my car. The old location was a huge paing in the butt.

This greatly simplifies the logistics when getting my car tuned. Driving to Tigard from Beaverton can be done without hitting the Freeways, and the traffic jams.

Thanks for the news CJ, it made my day.

Yeah, I'm realy happy about it too. I avoid Portland at all costs. I have 3 reasons I travel to Portland...ok maybe 4.

1. Go to Pineapple Racing
2. Go to GZ prior to move
3. Fly to a distant land
4. See my aunts/uncle.

Now, we just need Rob to move down this way too!

Great new location

I went by the new location yesterday (12/16/06)

Pros:

* Great location
* Easy access
* Parking!
* Room for a trailer!!
* Huge showroom
* It may not be an import, but the Barracuda in the showroom is an awesome car, and a rolling commercial for the in house fab guy. (Rich I think)
* The shop must be 4-5 times larger than the old one. There were three lifts in there, the new dyno room ( still under construction) and lots of room for cars.

Cons:

Can't think of any.

I've already plotted a trailer friendly freeway-free route to their shop.

Sorry guys, no pictures this week. Due to the crazy holiday season stuff, then coming down with the flu this week. Today I actually feel 85% or so. Atleast I'm on the downhill side of this. CJ

I'm not shure I could handle 3 weeks of nearly throwing up, being sore, tired, and not being able to sleep.

I'll make it up there next week for shure. CJ
