Finally Got 1!!

Hey everybody just letting you know I finally bought my second gen! An 86 gxl n/a wit 164k on it standard trans, hatch shocks hold up hatch but you have to pull lever extra hard or they dont pop it up enough and hatch sticks.

Tell me what you guys think i should do to it and what you think of the car.
Oh and it doesnt have any engine problems now, but with that mileage should i expect to do a rebuild soon?

On an 86, I'd recommend changing ALL or the suspension bushings, and ALL of the vacuum lines if they havn't been changed already. Aaron Cake's sight also recommends changing out all of the fluids and filters, 'cause you can't be sure when it was done last. A more free flowing intake and exhaust is always a pep-up. Otherwise, I'd keep it stock untill you decide where it's lacking.

Are you planning on using this as a daily driver, street-leagal racer, or what?

Take the MSF course if you're gonna get a bike. I used to teach it. It really prepares you for riding.

And good luck on the new car too.

Id go with the N/A just because ive heard they are alot more reliable that turbos.. and it makes since theres alot more that can go wrong wit a turbo. And im only 16 i dont need a turbo yet, my mom wouldnt let me drive it

Ah dont worry the N/a rx7s are quite fun too, just get it all tuned up and into spec, andgo get a compression test, lets see some daytime pics and interior pics, paint your hood to match
