Finally Got 1!!
I have a blast with my NA every day. My commute is between 40min/1hr all on twisty mountain roads. No freeways, and only three lights, just before I get to work. With a good suspension, an NA can be lots of fun. I just need to replace my rear steer bushings, cause it kicks in at low G's. Feels wierd, like the rear is sliding out, but you still have traction.
Ahhh...N/A rx-7's. At least you all have manual ones I assume...although I don't think many can beat the deal I got for $500 for an 87 N/A auto. with 78k original miles. Even better was selling it for $1300. Anywho, welcome to the club. Get used to the car and the feel of it, if power becomes an issue, its not like a few members haven't turbo'd their N/A's anyway.
ol i got mine for 1000.. everything works fine but the smog pump is taken off so i gotta get it to pass smog and the guy lost the key so i have to get that done too.
Hey, -=1OneShotNO2=-,
I`ve got a smog pump you can have if you will pay the shipping. PM me

You're better off looking for an ugly one. I found mine within a week of my old one breaking. $900. Got it running in less than an month. Would have been faster if it wasn't raining so much in January.
Yea N/a's are pretty hard to find.. i was looking for some besides the one in my building and all of the ones id found had blown motors, i called anyway bcuz i didnt really mind and all of them (at least 6.. all with blown engines....) had been sold in a week.
And then there was the 88 turbo i found.. the guy wanted 1350 for it so i called him and arranged to go see it the same day he listed it on recycler.. got half way to his house and called him and he told me it was sold already. Hey Derex ill keep an eye out for one for you ive seen a convertible s5 around here that doesnt get driven alot. Its red also.
Nice. I like the red color.
For an N/A, you shouldn't rebuild unless you're having problems. N/A's can last for 200K+ miles IIRC.
My personal opinion is, get rid of the black rail. Paint it red, unless you like it and then, keep it.
Also, if it has s4 taillights... keep them. I see way too many s5's around... it doesn't look cool anymore in my opinion.

hha i think i got a good deal also. I got my tornado silver SE with 118k miles on it, and it needed was tires and a new batt for $500. haha. and yes NA FCs are fun to drive. I got a custom piping on it which is basically straight pipe out a single N1 style muffler and a K&N intake and blow the doors off my friends mildly modded 240sx wit ported intake manifolds, apex exhaust and intake. but good stuff.
i got my fc for only 500 bux but with a blown/seized motor. well i ripped that s4 motor out and swapped in yee ol' s5 i bought for 1500 with an s5 tranny and a few other things...my fc is also "red"(sunrise red)
I got my red 86 GXL for 200 bucks for a project car... All it needed Clutch and brakes. It had 210k on it when I bought it. I drove it for a year or so, and was annoyed by the bad condition of the paint, and figured that I should rebuild the engine since I had no idea of the history of the car. Long story short: my engine was great inside (now ported), everything is removed, interior is rebuilt, and the car has been repainted..
I just couldn't dig the Red color
