Turbo update pictures and video w/flames

OK ladies and gents,

I still have alot of tuning work to do. waiting for more jets and have to work the pop off valve and wastegate adjustments but she is running. I have a couple pictures and two videos. The video's are quicktime and it would be easier to right click save target as to view. First one is 60 seconds the 2nd is 24ish seconds. I got flames from the exhaust I made the exhaust from 2.5 inch aluminized from the turbo to the muffler she is loud still. I thnk, I have to get one of those, in the end silencers.

Yes, it is a cheapy muffler from ebay dont expect it to last long.

It's a cheapy ebay air filter too. held on by Lowes finest

Just a warning turn your speakers down before playing then turn them up as the video starts.

movie 1

movie 2

Cool nice setup !! Would a Weber 48 IDA like yours be able to run a Turbo 13B , like a S4 or S5 TII engine with stock turbo??

Yes, but you would be venturing in darn near uncharted territory. Not many (that i have found) use a IDA in turbo applications with the rotary. The plenum is difficult to come buy and the float is custom prepped for boost. I wouldnt recomend it, do to the lack of turbo 48 IDA support.

glad to see it running. what are you running for boost? My K26 ran 1.3 bar on my audi, and I may pull it off if you give a favorable review.

I love a loud car too, but tring to be considerate to others when I come home from work at 10pm was difficult last night. Just ordered a stick it in the muffler silencer. Hopefully I wont sound like a full throttle fighter jet trying to take off now... It will also make it easier to tune in the front of the house

but the more beer I drink the less considerate I get, go figure

680RWHP12A welcome back from the abiss

It's working ok right now, I'm still trying to adjust the float level. That .001 inch at a time is killing me. I went with a glass ball 3.5 needle and seat. It's flooding a little after shutdown and kills itself a little at idle. she has a little hesitation and backfires at 2500~3500 rpm so I think she is a little lean. I ordered some main jets to help that out so we'll see. That and I have to work the pop off valve and wastegate adjustment. The pop off is bleeding boost and thats not letting the wastegate get a signal to open. not good. It's a work in progress. Got my wheels and tires on today very nice, car seems lighter driving and steering..

Any thought or do I seem right on with that?

what fuel pump are you using? whats your base fuel pressure while the car is idling?

im assuming your using f11 e tubes? what size are the venturies, main jets, air jets?

try a 150 air jet or 36mm venturies
first try raising the fuel pressure to see if that helps

Sorry, to say I'm still way in the tuning stage but the turbo is doing really good .5 bar. I'm sure at this point 1.3 bar would hurt my little 12a. when I get her tuned I will be working on about .7ish which should keep me happy till I rebuild the other engine.

Robert thanks for the pointers Ill try them when the jets come in. not dying to buy more venturies right now.
