I have a whole S4 TII driveline (unported) in my garage waiting to go into my 82 s. I am ordering a atkins 7in this winter and hope to have the whole setup running by spring.

The camden site says that with 8.5 compression (this is what the TII has, right?) you can only run up to 6lbs of boost. (i think there talking about piston engines though)

THis sounds really low to me. I am looking to produce between 250 and 300 flywheel.

I have thought about creating a air/water intercooler to sit under the blower, with its own cooling system. How much could I possibly run after that.

also, I plan to run a distributor on this setup but Im not familiar with boost vs timing, I know its different for superchargers vs turbos but any info would help.
and should I just run stock FC plugs?

Well, the stock turbo engine runs 6psi with the stock IC, adn we all know a turbo makes more heat than an SC, so you can run at *least* 6psi. IT's prety widely agreed that 10psi is about the limit on the stock intercooler's capacity before it becomes a burden. However, using it as air to water, not being top mounted, and not having a turbo pump all kinds of heat though it, you could probably run more with your blower. Depends on exactly how much more efficient(less heat) it is than a turbo. Nobody can "tell" you how much this is, youll just have to figure it out yourself. Unles they have done the exact same thing.

 

So what exactly are you doing? Are you putting a supercharger on your current engine with a TII tranny and rearend or what? Or I'm getting the impression your trying to supercharge a TII engine which is already turbocharged. If thats the case I must ask-why?

 

Non-intercooled, the magic number is 7psi - anything over that is asking for trouble.&nbsp I've heard you can push it to 10psi, but that's at your own risk.

no, its a bare tII block, racing beat roadrace headers, atkins intake and blower, no turbo,

I also dont have the stock intercooler and dont plan on using one.

Where can I get that book, that would be very helpfull.

Lets say the intercooler works great, the supercharger is limited to i think 15psi, maybe as high as 25. What can the motor take?

 

I've never heard of superchargers getting that high of boost. What do you do, change the pulley to a smaller one or what?

Yes, it's very helpful, and a very good read even if you don't have a supercharger. Unfortunately, it is geared toward piston engines like every other book, but if you just double your rotary engine's displacement all the math will work out just fine.

well the site says there standard pulley makes 15lbs of boost.

I think i will start with a 6lb pully for a while till I get the whole Air/water intercooler figured out. Then go up from there.
Im also going to get one of those dual signal intake temperture sensors so that I can test intake temp before and after the intercooler. That should help me alot in deciding safe boost levels.

 

think a blower cant make that much boost, check out this autometer guage. I saw one of these guages on a drag car once.

1.6 BAR (23.2 psi)

What should i run, I have heard advance is acceptible on a blower.

Right now im running 24 leading 16 trailing @ 4000 rpms but im pretty sure thats way too much.
