i THINK, i'm not too sure, it prevents afterburn. That resistor keeps you from shooting fat flames on deceleration, like a flamethrower.

Couldn't be more wrong...

The solenoid resistor is inline with the low-impedance injectors fitted to 86-87.5 FC's, to limit the current through the ECU injector drivers. I have no idea why Mazda called it that, because it's not a solenoid, or even vaguely related to one.

I thought I said *end of discussion*. Darn

How about......It's the resistors for the injector solenoids? Therefore Solenoid Resistor package.

Somewhere in the middle of 1987 Mazda stopped using a solenoid resistor package and just upped the resistance in the fuel injectors themselves. Went from a ressitance of 2-3 ohms in the resistors themselves to over 10 ohms in the resistors themselves.

In other words, the 88 cars did not have a solenoid resistor. End of discussion.

eah, I suppose that make sense, although not as much sense as "Injector Resistor".

The VERY LAST WORD ON THIS SUBJECT supplied by the NZCONVERTIBLE thru the trainging manuals he posted some time ago., See attached jpg and OR read the book.

And we might take note that Casey Stoner took the fight to Valentino Rossi and won the MotoGP of Qatar with ease. He was just playing with Rossi.
