Talking New dash (slow connection beware)

Here are some pictures of the new dash my next door neighbor and I just installed in my '83 GSL. It took us an entire afternoon. :P I picked up the dash from a '83 in a junk yard. The dash was this faded green color. I cleaned it up real good and sprayed it with black dye that you can get at your local auto parts store. The most annoying problem with this installation was getting the few screws under the dash and the ventilation was in the way.

This is a shot of the dash right when we started.

Finally installed. woo hoo *happy little dance* next the door panels need to be done. The stereo is out because I'm getting a new one. The center console grey plastic part will be painted yellow.

They are a pain when trying to get it out. Getting it back in seemed to be easier for some strange reason.

it's funny that you mention that, because I took a pic of it when I was working of the dash. hehehehe.

As for changing stations.

My Fiancé says, "well, you see you get a pool cue...".
My neighbor says, "with a IR remote of course, silly".
I thought why not setup the window wipers to change the stations.

Yeah, I was totally surprised to find it. It cost me $20. It was dirty but no cracks. Matter of fact it's still soft. Just used some cleaner dye, and clearcoat.

All I have to say is that I was very lucky to find one in this shape. When I come across first gens they are ravaged by people getting other parts under the dash.
