God damn horror story

I'm driving home from long island to westchester last night and everything is going fineI crushed a couple of acuras on the highway and I was feelin' alright! I pull up to a red light about a mile from my house and some douche bag honda with a bunch of teens pulls to my left. I happen to know there are a lot of cops in this are so I wasn't going to race them. I put the rpm's up to about 3000 and let go on the green. CRUNCH!!CRACK!!!GRRRFFCCKK! the car makes a holy **** storm of sound from the tranny area and the car comes to a bucking stop on the side of the road. Something is totally screwed, and I just put in an ACT clutch 2000 miles ago. (But wait theres more!) I get the car towed to my house and about 50 feet from my house, The tow truck loses my car!!! It rolls down a hill about 30 feet long and comes to a stop by grinding my passenger side up against a rock wall! 91 tail light(destroyed) Pass fender(destroyed) pass corner panel(destroyed) rear bumper(destroyed) I am either going to sue the crap out of the tow company or personally go their shop and put some ventilation holes in their bodies with a high powered rifle! Man sometimes my 7 is just bad luck

Yeah, that sounds like an NA tranny going - sounds like a bunch of loose bolts in a coffee can. I'd drain the gear oil and see if there's chunks of metal in the gear oil.

Did you have the car on a flatbed? If not, why not? I refuse to let a "regular" tow truck tow my car just for that reason, not to mention the RX-7 is too low for a pull-along tow truck.

Most towing companies have good insurance for this type of situation - just be calm and professional, and let them foot the bill.

I went down to talk to the body shop today and it looks like I'm going to be able to get the whole car painted instead of just the damaged areas. It looks like I might make out on this actually. My 91 tail light on the pass. side was already broken before the tow guy crunched it ---Ta Ching$$$. Also the accident damaged the pass side control arm and destroyed the bushings---Ta ching$$$. The only draw back is that the rims I have are konig V-Racing rims, I think they've been discontinued. If the body shop can't replace the 2 damaged rims, it looks like I'll be getting a new set of rims!

Make sure nothing in the suspension is messed up, if your rims are messed up there is the possibility of other stuff being a problem. MAKE SURE, because then you can get it from the towing company.

yeah it's actually unbelievable. Hey I know that my diff mount is busted before the accident. Do you think I should try to pass it off as the fault of the tow truck accident? How would I be able to know it was busted? Any ideas?

Definately bring it to their attention, and I would say nothing and plead ignorance if they try and say it was not caused by the accident. You could rightly claim that the accident caused most of the damage. Worst that can happen is they refuse to cover it. If they give you a hard time about it, you could agree to pay a percentage of the cost.

Man , thats a sad story

Sounds like it will be for the better in the end. Insist on getting everything fixed, and chose a bodyshop. Typically an insurance co. will send your car to a crappy bodyshop that has it in-and-out in no time.

Good luck! Maybe you can get a custom bumper or rims or something to make your car look even better.

New paint will make the car look awesome, trust me

You seem like a great guy. Heaven forbid you would ever make a mistake at work; maybe a mistake in spelling and have it cost you your life.

Gimme a break. This will all work out. The driver's already gonna catch **** for it from his boss, don't need a bitchy customer to deal with either.

When I ordered my engagement ring, it came in two days after I proposed (they gave me a different ring for the time being). Did I flip on the employees of the store? No. B/c everyone makes mistakes.

Hope you commit suicide next time you break a bolt on your car.

Go ahead and do it, I'm not going to speach you on right and wrong.

However, do realise that if that is your idea of morals, you can not post anything on this forum in the ternms of "My stereo got stolen and I'm pissed! I'm going to kill those *******", as that would make you nothing more than a hypocrite.
