exhaust manifold questions

Okay, got a couple of more questions, this time regarding the (stock) exhaust manifold:

1) What's the pipe-thingy for that comes goes into the exhaust manifold out of the rear rotor?

2) I have non-seq turbos (BNR rebuilds), so I have removed the precontrol flapper door from the exhaust manifold. Also, the BNRs have the precontorl door completly removed from the turbos. My question is: Can I just remove the center wall from the exhaust manifold and the turbos since there aren't any doors there any more? I am getting ready to do some port matching before I reassemble the engine and I was wondering if I needed this material any more or if it is just creating a flow restricition. I searched and couldn't find anything. Thanks.

Here are some pics:

Okay, so the wording showed up a little blurry. I think the forum reduced the pic size. But you can see where I circled my questions. What is that pipe thingy for in the exhaust manifold for? Also, do I need those two walls (the one in the exhaust manifold and the corresponding one in the turbos) if I don't have any prespool doors? Thanks.
