Tire and Wheel is 35lbs at each corner, not bad, my 16" with Nittos was 36lbs.

Reet! Only 35lb tire + wheel too... that's really impressive, especially considering that they are 17's!

Did you drive on them yet? Curious how those Toyos take to wet weather. I like the idea of full-tread-depth DOT-R's.

Let us know if you have any problems with rubbing on the fenders. Did you roll the fenders?
Did you pick those up at tirerack, I am curious because the only thing I could find are 15" Enkei's. Or do you have a GSL-SE?

it is an -SE, if you look through the new rims at the rims he's comparing them to, they're -SE rims .

Discount Tire has a package deal on those for $999. I highly doubt it comes with those good tires though.

ok, I'll try to answer all those questions

to my door it was like $1450'ish the rims were 166'ish each (Discount Tire wants $195)
I'm at work so I don't have the recipt with me.
shipping was 72, mounting, balance and lugs were FREE
the Toyos were 160'ish I belive. one of the few online place that sell them.
I got them thru www.TreadDepot.com, kinda stupid sales people, they kept telling me 215's would fit the front. I later thought about it and he might of mistaken the 86 SE with the 85 GSL-SE, same bolt pattern, but not same clearence.

The rims are the black pearl, you have to see it in the right light to see it, its kinda hard to catch it with the camera. kinda hard to explain, a bit of the chromalusion stuff.

the bolted up fine with good clearance with my Eibach pro coils and Tokico Illuminas, no rubbing.
My 16" Enkei's had a 38mm offset, these have 40mm, so there is a wee bit more room up front.
I have not rolled my fenders (Yet) but there is no contact as of yet.

The ride so far (15min's to work) they ride nice (Tokico's on 3"
they do have a bit more road noise than the Nitto 555R's I had. But with twice the stickyness, I can learn to live with it.

In the rain (On the way to work) I like them so far, I was still able to kick the rear out. but then it was 40'ish outside and tires were cold.

they come with 8/32" of tread which is 2/32" more than the Nitto's did new.

SO basically you spent more on wheels then the basic car is worth?! Damn they are large(compliment). Well you should not have much delay in turns due to tire flex one would think!

I have some american racing wheels on mine(in my picture to the left of my post that are 14" and with 205 14 88H's and I have bottomed out and got some damage on my fenders. Luckily I don't care since the car was hailed on and I also hit a deer. ha ha. Now its rusting in the fender area too...everythings going to hell for me. haha.

Not really, the car is worth ALOT more than $1400

It was $1419.50 total - $166.75 per wheel, and $170 per tire.

If we can get some better weather and I can cut back on the 12hr work days I'll let yah know on the flex.

 

Man, you guys are making it hard for me to stay with my 15's. Great wheels and look, Max! Congrats!

Went to Indanpolis this past weekend for a Dyno event and snapped a few photos of the car.


Pulled 131.6 RWHP / 117.2 RWT
not to bad, Full RB single exhaust, Cone filter, MSD direct fire, 6 ports removed. electric fan, stock timing.
also did a compression test
Front 7.3/7.5/7.3 - 341 RPM
Rear 7.5/7.7/7.9 - 348 RPM
still purring along with 102k on the 7

The only thing I don't like, is the driving lights. For some reason when I look at it in those photos it looks like it has buck teeth! lol

Power stops sells Crossdrilled or Slotted r0tors for the GSL-SE. They are like $115.00 or so . Also.. earls stainless steel break lines.
Side note: get the slotted.. because for some reason.. I've went through 2 pairs of the Crossdrilled ones. They tend t0 warp easily. And don't
It might be because of those self-car washes and the high pressure hose :]
