Best way to remove heater core??

Whats the best way to remove the heater core for replacement? I've heard both hard and easy info.

Whats the deal?

Well I think the only way is to remove the dash.

I dont think there really is an easy way.

I went with the full dash removal. <12 hours for a newbie... including two trips to the store. Should be less if U R better than me. Don't even bother removing the defogger grilles, the whole metal plate they are attached to pops out very easily with clips after you remove the center bolt. The grilles don't need to come out and they break VERY easily.

My .02 for ya...

How much does the heater core weigh? Mine doesnt work, im thinking of just removing it.

Oh, not much a few pounds probably. If your just going to bypass it I wouldn't remove it.

it weights somewhere around 10-15lbs not including the water..
but all the crap that goes to it probable racks it up to about 45lbs or so. (blower, ac, pipes, heater core)

Wow, I must have a different heater core than everyone else. Its a small brass radiator. I think everything all together is probably 30-40lbs. Thats the blower and all the little crap, but just the core...5lbs max!
