GS = Grand Sport
GSL = Grand Sport Luxury

In 1980, the "Anniversary" RX-7 was released for the 10 years of Mazda in the U.S. market which were all burgundy in color with pinstriping. The Leather Sport introduced later that year. The seats, gearknob and steering wheel was covered in leather. It had gold aluminum wheels and an LS badge on the B-pillar and only 2500 were made.
In 1983 5000 Limited Edition models were released in Chateau Silver paint, red pinstriping, red velour seats and 14" mesh wheels.
All models were based on the GS with a sunroof.

In Canada they released a GX model - don't know what years they were manufactured but i had an '83. Came with 4 wheel disc, leather, SS targa band w/ GX badges on the pillor, and came with all the options other than air including sun and solid roof - variety of colors. Sounds like the US LE
