Question Any clues to Rim cleaning

Hey guys
I bought a 83 in pretty good shape, The rims however are a bit oxidized, and have pretty much no shine left. I was just wondering if anyone has had any experience with this, and if they could recommend products, or methods that have worked.

Thanks a buch guys

what i actually did was i sanded them down pretty well, with a piece of sos for like cleaning pans, and then i used my sand blaster to clean them up
then i gave them a whipe
then i sprayed them with hammertone silver paint and did like 3 coats and now they look quite nice

I used air craft paint remover to removed the clear coat and paint..but beed blasting would be nicer..than sand and polish..

what kind of clear coat would need to be used on them after they have been polished/painted? i would guess that regular clear coats are not heavy enough. am i right?
