Either way there are plenty of bidding services, the main advantage of going thru Ramy with this is saving shipping $ imho. Do you know how much it costs to ship a hood or bumper from Japan? Because most of the time it costs nearly as much as the part itself.
I mean, we have technology. I could speak to someone in Swahili if I wanted to, so communicating isn't an issue.
But what you are arguing Bryan is basically what these Yahoo JP style fronts have propagated over the last five years and it just seems like another barrier to entry type thing that has been planted in the community that, in reality, isn't a strong case. Sorry, but I've seen how all this has rolled and I don't get why you have to render your service to someone else when you have all the tools to do the same thing yourself, especially when you have no idea what they (the lieson) is doing on on the backend.

As far as everything else goes... I get that this is going to be part of a "Large" shipment so that is how you will save on shipping. Also, Ramy isn't doing this as part of a business, just as part of an already existing shipment that will be happening either way.

So I have a question...if I placed an order now and won the bid tomorrow, when should I expect it here in the states?

Communicating is not as simple as hitting google translate (or using any other voice program). Ever heard of the phrase "lost in translation"? Technology is not a substitute for actually knowing Japanese. Also what you seem to forget is that a majority of sellers in Japan ARE NOT GOING to deal with packing/shipping LARGE heavy/bulky parts to the states. It doesn't matter whether you speak fluent Japanese or not with many sellers of larger items (that can't be shipped via usual means such as EMS economically) unless you have an "agent" willing to inspect and handle the logistics you will be sol regardless as far as purchasing even if you speak Japanese or you are willing to pay a premium. Also lets not forget U.S. auction sites have some of the highest rates of fraud and non-payment, another reason why many Japanese sellers won't bother taking the risk. Either way no one is preventing you from trying to do anything so their is no "barrier." No ones forcing you to buy thru Ramy so if you don't want to then don't.

And all this time i thought the main advantage of dealing with me is going through someone you trust

In addition to the aforementioned points, YJA actually forbids foreigners from joining, bidding on, selling, or buying on their auctions. That's actually why the YJA site itself built in a lot of roadblocks for Google translator (now it's hit or miss on whether a page will translate for you or not).

As such, users will NOT sell to buyers outside of the US.

Users also MUST pay using domestic payment methods, not international wire transfers.

Also, as Bryan mentioned, fraud is a real concern. I've experienced this first-hand, both in the US (eg. on eBay) and in Japan (YJA), when a promised functional item arrives non-functional, or a part doesn't arrive as described, etc. So when I was SELLING items from Japan to you guys (in the past), I was taking the brunt of all this risk, and any/all associated losses. Which of course had to factor into my pricing.

This is COMPLETELY different than what I'm doing right now (offering ppl the opportunity to get very expensive to ship parts onto my container). I'm NOT selling the parts. You pick out the auction, I'm merely the middleman. And shipping it to you. Not looking to deal w/ the risk & hassle anymore.

So yea, like Bryan said, I'm OFFERING to HELP. You're not required to go through me. Knock yourself out with any other method you'd like. But pay keen attention to why others who even LIVED in Japan still have parts there they're struggling to bring over.... And why when you buy from a DISTRIBUTOR here, sometimes they make you wait 8+ months for their once-a-year container shipment...

The other thing I'd say is, most of the stuff I get for ppl is directly from shops (Re-Amemiya, FEED, etc). I think I can say with confidence that I - as a single entity - have bought more from them than pretty much ANY vendor state-side. Which means that I've been able to arrange for pretty good discounts on large orders that I place with them directly, as I've done in the past. Ex, I was one of the LAST "new" customers Panspeed was willing to take a few years back (yep, they closed their doors to new customers). Got a bunch of their rare parts for US customers last year. Right now I'm working on finalizing the RE-Amemiya order.

I don't think you can get THAT kind of service with some basic Google translator

Depends on the item. If it's a small/relatively light item, I can EMS it to ya. You typically have a few days to pay for the auction, then about a week to receive it. A few days to process & ship it, and about 3-4 days for you to receive it. So 2 weeks is like the FASTEST you'd EVERY receive something. But you'll also PAY for that express service.

As for the container shipment (which almost everyone is opting for), I'm looking for the container to depart toward the end of January, to hit our shores by the end of February/early March, to clear Customs in about 2 weeks, and then I need time to inventory and pack/ship stuff. So things should START to go out by the end of March/beginning of April if all goes well.

To most ppl, saving $800 on the cost of SHIPPING ALONE for a bumper is worth waiting those 3-4 months.

No worries; glad I can help. And Nengun can't save you on shipping

Close. HKS' sequential 6-speed dogbox was about $7500 new + shipping costs from Japan.

While it's def. one of the nicer units out there (but is high maintenance, FYI), also keep in mind that the FD transmissions (regardless of the gearset installed in the case) are limited by case design. So even if the gearset itself is good for tons of torque, the transmission case itself starts to fail around 400 - 500 ft-lbs of torque. Bryan, I believe we've already exchanged several emails since your post. So we should be good.

Email is always best. I'm not on the forum much nowadays.
