Apples and oranges. The HKS kit is a) an outdated setup, and b) only comes with an IC; you have to supply your radiator. Our kit will be a FULL kit, with the BEST radiator available on the market, *everything* you need to install the kit, and a few other goodies too

I am VERY interested in this setup. I just sold my SMIC, and now is the perfect time to switch out for a V-Mount. I need to buy one before DGRR, so hopefully your kit will be ready by then... since you'll be there, you could even show the setup to other potential customers (I even have the 99 spec bumper ).

Thanks for the info.

Edit:Why is the HKS V-Mount outdated? Can you give any indication at all what this may cost?

As posted in the original thread:

But it would be my guess that the base price will be anywhere from $2300 to 2700 with ducting. Also the battery relocation wouldn't be to the bins, it would be to the rear hatch area, which should clear up your problem. In either case, you'll have the option to either relocate the battery or use a smaller one in the engine bay.

And from earlier in this thread:

-Power steering cooler upgrade (can not retain the stock cooling loop)
- Dual oil cooler kit (also sold separately)
-Battery box (uses Hawker PC680 battery)
-Battery relocation kit

The battery relocation kit may not be available when the V-mount is complete, but should be available shortly after.

We were playing around with the idea of adding the option of louvers, and a cold air intake box.

-Dan
So as you can see, we're trying to go ALL out with this; leaving NO room for improvement

Given that'll be in April, I sure hope so! lol. I'm trying to release the V-mount hopefully in January...

I'll be there? Really? Thanks for letting me know that! LOL. I WISH I could, but as I told Phil, I'll be overseas from the last week of March to the last week of April. So unless something changes, I won't be able to attend I WOULD like to attend as an official vendor next year, both @ DGRR & Sevenstock!

~Ramy

PS: Now leave us alone to finish the kit!

Sorry for the assumption, I know you were there last year, so I figured you would be there this year, as well. In any case, I would still have the opportunity to show the finished product to other potential buyers

I can't wait to see the finished product, I've been waiting for a completely ducted kit to come out for awhile...

Even if it is cheaper/same price as an HKS V-Mount. It comes with a radiator while HKS's does not. I believe. HKS does come with a different elbow though and battery relocation.

I was?!?! Wow...I need to keep better track of where I am LOL.

Sorry to break it to ya big man, but I wasn't there last year either. Sadly, I have NEVER been able to make it to a DGRR to date...timing was always off (for me). I did, however, co-sponsor the event (from afar LOL) and I believe Phil distributed my business cards as well. But I myself couldn't make it.

You and me both hehe. A lot of what we do is to fill a void that we think should have been filled YEARS ago. It's crazy, but it's almost like the FD is just NOW reaching it's pinnacle in aftermarket support lol.

Yep you're right; HKS only comes w/ an IC core. And yes they have their own elbow that would only mate w/ the OEM IC, not other aftermarket ICs (other than their own), and it does NOT allow you to retain the A/C IIRC. It's a "kit," but a FAR cry from what we see as "complete," that's for sure.

Ah ok. Na I couldn't go that weekend, but Rich & Ihor were passing thru, and I insisted they crash @ my place instead of going to a No-Tell Motel

Oh and I see you're in Poughkeepsie, NY. I once drove ALL THE WAY up from NoVa (near DC) to Poughkeepsie to buy a car and drive it back down. The guys @ the dealership thought I was *completely* nuts LOL.

That's funny... I used to live in DC, and I'd drive up to Poughkeepsie every few weekends...

yes, other than battery relocation HKS Vmount also requires that whole fuse box and wires next to the battery to be relocated as well...

i almost went with HKS when i ordered the vmount from ramy... but after closer study, HKS one has no AC, and pain in the *** wire bundle relocation turned me away. 2700 for Vmount kit with radiator is a steal.

Ramy, do u think its possible to order a custom IC after you guys starts producing this? just the IC and maybe IC piping only...for like the size of Rotary extreme's monster vmount for stock twins...

Oh yeaaaa...I forgot about that. And the A/C Elimination Kit isn't exactly the type of "kit" I had in mind lol (I'd prefer an A/C adapter kit so you can KEEP what you have, not ditch what you have).

2700 for Vmount kit with radiator is a steal.
Oh trust me, w/ the completeness of this kit, and the few add-ons we're including, it'll be a steal regardless of the price. I *guarantee* you'll never see anywhere even NEAR as complete a kit like this. "Do it once, do it right"

Link, you of all ppl can request whatever you'd like, and it would be my pleasure

I would like to add one more question. Would the kit come with the greddy elbow? the kit requires a greddy elbow right?

Sorry if Im resurrecting a dead thread. I was wondering if this project was still ongoing or if it was just dropped? This really looks like it would be a great setup and as soon as I have the money I would definitely pick one of these kits up.

If this was not dropped, I would be very interested in this kit. Hopefully you guys are still going through with it.
