intake with v-mount

Hi,

I am in the process of possibly purchasing the apexi intake kit for my car. I am wondering if it would work with the v-mount kit you have in development. If not i won't bother purchasing it.

Thanks

Why would you use a v-mount with stock twins?

Because I can make it work with a single turbo later when I get one with minor modifications. Since I track my car I need one before I increase the power.

I have the APEX'i intakes and I'm hoping to install my v-mount in a few months. Granted, it might not be the same specs as the one Ramy is producing, but if you haven't done it by then already I'll let you know if it works. Or after you've done it you can let ME know how it works, haha.

The intercooler kit is being designed to work with the HKS Sus intake, as well as the greddy intake. The Apexi intake may not work with the IC core that we'd like to put in the engine bay. If I actually had the Apexi kit, I would have a better response, but since I can't really tell from pictures, I can't say if it will definately fit.

By HKS sus intake do you mean the HKS Direct Drive Racing Suction Intake?

Thanks

Are the hks and greddy intakes similar in performance during high boost operations? the greddy is a lot cheaper.......

J,
Yes I mean the HKS SUS intake.... They look very similar, the main difference is the HKS replaces all oem intake lines. The Greddy kit retains the factory 90 degree bend coming off the primary turbo. I can't really say which one is better for performance, they probably are about the same. How much boost are you going to be running? The stock turbos can't handle high boost very well.

P.S. Should have some prototype pictures VERY soon

He closed the thread, I am and always have been developing the v-mount....and that is the v-mount I am referring to. I don't think we ever post pics of the prototype though.

Dan

I think the HKS racing suction is the best intake (design & function) on the market, save for a true cold air intake box (*ahem*dan*ahem* lol)

I got kinda tired of basic questions, repetitive suggestions we had already taken into account, and a mix of off-topic & "is it done yet?" posts, so I locked it. We'll post up when it's ready, which shouldn't be long at all

We're sorry for the long wait, honestly. I've been frustrated more then you would think trying to get this thing done.

Why WOULDN'T you use a V-mount w/ stock twins?

They are the most heat challenged set up of all.

It's difficult to go out and make your own custom kit for yourself. Making a large number of V-mount kits to work with A/C and PS and making it look professional is very different. We are working as fast as we can, but a lot of the time we're waiting on suppliers. Stay posted for a prototype picture later on today.

Alright guys, these are some pics you have been waiting on. This is a prototype and the actual production model will have some changes. This kit is set up on a single turbo car with no power steering or A/C. So it was a some what easy kit to design that allowed for a good bit of trial and error. I will let Dan elaborate and answer any quesions you guys might have. There should be some completed pics of the kit that is on my car in the about 3 weeks once the piping is done and the ducting is complete.

Alright fellas, that is the prototype we've constructed. It's pretty much custom for Austin and we still have to complete the ducting, and re-design the mounts. The kit will be designed to work with either the Hawker 680 or a relocated battery. I'm not entirely sure of the dimensions of the turbojeff battery tray. Also, like I've said many times before, the production kit will work with A/C and PS. Also the final intercooler will be a bit larger. Sorry for the pictures, my "photographer" isn't the best

Regards,
Dan

P.S. Please keep pictures of your private setups in the 3rd gen section or other forums. This thread is for the v-mount we are designing, I'd like to avoid any confusion. Thanks

Ramy,

I can't help but to think my KS Vmount is lagging because its taking part in the R&D for FDNewbie vmount kit? The whole reason i ordered the KS kit is because i didn't have the patience to wait for the FDNewbie one. but If somehow my order is helping the completion of FDNewbie's design. It would be horribly disappointing in all aspects. the last update i heard from you was that my shipment has arrived and will be sent out upon ur return right after SevenStock. but i haven't seen or heard anything since.

i apologize for posting my thoughts in here, but it may be the quickest way to get a reply. please give me an update soon. thank you for ur time

RX7LINK, that is simply not the case. You're not the only one that has been waiting on their shipments, you must understand the workload Ramy is under. I have tried contacting Ramy but he is currently unavailable. I'll have him contact you, but I can tell you that Ramy will be shipping out a whole bunch of parts very very soon.
