Sorry for the delay. I was bumped back behind a larger (read: hundred thousand dollar order) on the CNC project list; this wasn't told to me up front, and was completely out of my control. But the keys are being made currently, and I'm promised they should all be ready by early this coming week. So hopefully I'll have a positive update for you guys in about 7 days.
Thanks,

you should be receiving these keys anytime now (this week). do you have them yet?
latest. and i mean, latest, you will have the keys by 9/15. so can you please take a picture of all the keys so that we know that you indeed do have them and ready to be shipped out?
i am excited! finally after 1 year of paying for this GB.

So I understand everyone's frustration. And I'm pretty frustrated as well, because I really do my best to try and deliver as promised. But it's VERY difficult to do it when the vast majority of what I deal with isn't just grabbing a part off a shelf, or calling in an order to someone else who can just drop-ship a part off the shelf. It's providing a very cumbersome service (replicating parts otherwise impossible to come by, or fabricating parts from scratch) for a very small niche community. And therein lie the delays. They're COMPLETELY out of control. And I really do bend over backward to supply this service to you guys. There's a lot of personal sacrifice that goes into it that you guys don't see. Like, for example, on this GB, I'm not making a DIME. In fact, I'll be LOSING money (unlike some of you guys who are saying I'm sitting on a grand of your money). Why?
- Gotta pay UP FRONT for the CAD design time
- Gotta pay UP FRONT for the CNC time
- There's a minimum # of keys I had to run to make the GB happen, and I had to pay for ALL of those keys, out of my own pocket. But I have less than HALF of that # of keys ordered and paid for from you guys.
- So in the end, I'll have paid a large sum, and only recouped roughly HALF of that cost, after all the keys are shipped out.
So while it's really easy on the surface to make me out to be the bad guy because this GB is taking much longer than expected, I'm doing the best I can to continue to provide you guys w/ this service, and all I ask for is a little appreciation and patience in exchange. That's all. So yea, sure, when I see some ppl who aren't being so understanding urging others to hurt my reputation on the forum, when I'm trying to provide a service (not make a quick buck; I have a full time day job; this is my passion though), it's disheartening to say the least. And it sure didn't help that it took us forever to get enough ppl to pay to know there would be at least enough interest to give it a shot, then after practically a miracle to secure an original key, the GB thread got deleted not once, not twice, but THREE times (none of which were my fault), and finally an unexpected delay on the CNC machine.
It wasn't too long ago (for some of you newer members) that I had the BEST reputation on the forum...and I'd truly & honestly like to bring that back. So instead of trying to bash me (which doesn't really help anyone in the end), I'm all ears for constructive criticism on what I can do to make this and other such GBs better and more satisfying for everyone. Because, in the end, that's what I'm here for: to get you guys the toys you've always wanted.
Thanks,
~Ramy
PS: I'm hoping to pick up the keys this weekend, and I'll be happy to take pics of 'em prior to getting 'em packaged up for shipping.

All we ask for is semi-regular updates. Is that really so hard. All you could do is post up something like:
"Hey, order got pushed back, it'll be a few weeks."
or
"Hey, nothing new to report, still waiting on some members to pay"
no news is not always good news.

You need to exit the business while your ahead. and these are the reasons why:
You dont have the capabilities or the resources to operate a simple group buy or the time to devote to it.
You lack organizational skills.
You don't respond to your customers inquiries let alone their complaints.
You cant even acknowledge the importance of a deadline.
If your not making money, why the hell are you in the business? Do you know theres a guy up the road from you who offers a similar business that is successful? He somehow makes money offers similar products and has happy customers.
Do you remember I offered to buy a Greddy TI exhaust from you that you had this summer. You responded to my inquiry in 15 minutes. As a matter of fact there was five emails that night. I have to ask was it because it was a four figure deal that you dropped what you were doing and responded so promplty? Coincidence? IDK waht to think????
I was so insecure about the deal I offered to drive up to Gville to get it from you because i knew better and I didnt want to be hanging for a long time. The deal didnt go through bc of personal circumstances I got through and I eventually bought one and paid substantially more.
Honestly this is not a bash, you have obviously accomplished a lot and even have some white knights that will defend you to great lengths. However a year and a half for some keys ??????
Finally did you even acknowledge that i ask you send the keys to my new address like i have asked previously (because I lost my job last year)?

i just ask if you could be on the forums more even for 5 mins to give a response to threads/ GB's i am still in no rush for these keys but an update every couple days would be nice, you have a job/school what ever you do, but i highly doubt you are sooo fatigued that you get home and just pretty much fall on the bed sleeping. just response to the threads more and i think that will bring your status back up. my .02 cent

I appreciate the feedback guys, regardless of how harsh it may be ;-)
I've been taking a lot of steps (in the background; stuff that will be apparent very soon, God Willing) to make sure these probs are taken care of, including a revamped, fully automatized e-commerce website w/ realtime pricing, a shopping cart, realtime tracking info, etc etc. Plus (most importantly) getting a few more ppl to help me out so we can do the stuff efficiently & effectively. But that's neither here nor there.
On the topic of the Spirit-R GB, I won't say anything, because pictures speak a thousand words...
I'll be getting 'em ready to ship over the next few days =-)
Thanks,
~Ramy
