UPDATE: We've been working on a unique new addition to the headlight buckets so that they'll allow for covers. Basically, the way we've chosen to do it will not make it necessary to run covers. It'll be an option and it'll be an option that can always be added later if you don't initially choose to run them.

The first kit itself will be hopefully installed on a local FD within a month. I will thoroughly document the installation and provide feedback from the installer regarding fitment, quality, ease of install, etc.

We also anticipate being ready to offer the kit for sale within a few weeks. Obviously you can wait to purchase after seeing pictures/details of the initial install. The GB pricing will be adjusted accordingly.

I plan on continuing the updates until we are ready to sell.

Thanks,
-Rizwan

What do you see wrong with the original design that would warrant changes to accommodate h.i.d. lighting? I really do appreciate your efforts, been waiting for years on you for these.

I'm still debating what the final price will be so technically nothing is set in stone. The price again for the base kit will include the buckets, brackets, and mounting hardware.

The issues to accommodating a "true" HID involve the fact that the buckets are not completely sealed and therefore moisture would get in damaging the lights. HID bulbs can obviously still be installed and work without issues, but unless significant changes are made to the original design...a true HID would not be a feasible option.

Yes, sorry for the delay. The first production set is currently being installed within a local friend's FD. I've been documenting the process and as soon as the basic bodywork is complete and the lights are fitted, I will post up complete pictures of everything.

As long as no issues arise at this point, we are ready for sale of the kit. I just want to ensure beyond a doubt that noone will have any problems with fitment/installation.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask. If I don't respond here, feel free to PM or email me (rxracing.net@gmail.com).

Thanks,
-Rizwan

They're done at this point, but we're going out of our way to ensure that fitment will be spot-on which is why we're doing a full test-fit prior to selling to any interested parties. I'm hoping within 2 weeks, we'll be ready to rock and roll.

I have waited over 3 years for this kit and all we get is bad promises of updates that never come. This kit have been ready for sale in over 1 year but you dont sell it? I agree with RX72NR this will never be for sale. I go for the Evo-R lights!

Talking Rotary Run Lights on the MR2

Hi, those are some of my favorite lights, those and the R-Magic. After seeing these on the Injen LS1 FD3S I have been a huge fan. Also they look great on this Japanese MR2

I think he's running Q45 Projectors?

Talking Possible carbon fiber version?

If the manufacturer is giving you a hard time, I'm sure I could make these for a very competitive price and in carbon fiber as well. We can also make lenses if desired.

We make custom parts for the MR2 under our VegasAero line.

If you are considering a carbon fiber version or if you would like to manufacture the lights I'm sure we could make a high quality version in carbon fiber / carbon kevlar or fiberglass.

Here's an example of a scoop we make for the MR2, very intricate piece with lots of sharp bends:

If you are interested please feel free to let me know, I'd love to see these lights on the market either way.

Let me clarify the above post because it sounds like I'm trying to thread jack and sell my own Rotary Run lights, which I don't have.. To clarify: I'm offering to manufacture the lights for you if your current manufacturer is giving you trouble.

just my opinion, but the RR lights look like *** on that mr2 completely molded in with that horrendous body kit.

Bomex MR2

The body kit is a bomex front bumper and custom one off customized wide body based on the TRD 2000GT Race version wide body kit, probably the most highly sought out kit since the other TRD is so common. With the hood lines deleted and somewhat curvy front end I think the worst thing he could do would be to leave square headlights on that 1 piece front end. But, to each his own.

Actually,

those Gatling gun looking headlights where sold in you local parts store and manufactured by APC. I remember seeing them in an Advance Auto Parts and actually gave them a second look.

2) Yes it would be nice to have those RR Style headlights. I have Rotary Extreme's Sleek headlight kit now, the problem with them is that if you are driving in rain or mist or fog or anything you cant see worth a damn even though the projectors are by Hella.

3) if you can make these for a reasonable price (already spent $1200 for ****) not looking to drop anywhere NEAR $1000 again. I would be interested in purchasing. Looks and fitment are great but at the end of the day (night ) viability is KEY.

I appreciate the clarification and to be honest I wish I wasn't in sooo deep at this point otherwise I would consider going this route. Perhaps we can still work together on a Carbon Version of these lights if we can come to an agreement on specifics. Also, I have a few other projects in mind and would love to work with a reputable company where the delays are not ridiculous

I will PM you tomorrow to possibly discuss additional options as I am interested in partnering with a quality manufacturer.

Finally...I have NO excuses so I won't even attempt to make any. I'm very sorry for how long this has taken, but it's been out of my control. I have done everything and I mean everything to expedite the process but alas my efforts have not been as successful as I'm particularly used to.

With that being said, my friends car will be completed next week. The lights are fitted, modifications to the bumper, etc. have been made and the lights fit very well. Much better than the originals, which we've test fit alongside these.

I'm linking a couple pictures below and I've documented the installation process so that interested parties will be aware of the work required to install these lights. IMO well worth it.

Yes, I would love to make them in carbon / carbon kevlar / frp. I can airmail them to the factory, production time of mold and 5 sets + shipping should take 2 months. I will shoot you a pm so we can get something going.

So, when do you think you will be taking deposits and also when do you think you will be delivering?
