Pwn refers to the domination of a player in a video game or argument (rather than just a win). There are several commonly accepted theories about its origin, most of which suggest derivation from the word own. The word "pwn" is pronounced the same as the common English word "own," though it is sometimes pronounced "pone" or "pawn". The most obvious of these is that pwn is a simple misspelling of the word own (since p is adjacent to o on QWERTY keyboards), but there are other plausible theories. One example is that 'pwn' in fact means "player own"; another theory is that the word originates from "perfectly own"; alternatively, since the letter P is one letter further along in the alphabet than the letter O, using "pwn" rather than "own" means that you have been beaten to a higher degree than "own." All denote the utter massacre of the other player(s). Another example of a common phrase used is lol pwned no re meaning the opponent was completely annihilated (not just beaten) and there is no rematch requested. Variations include pwnt, pwnz0red, pwnx0r3d, pwnihilation, pwnz0rz, pwn3d, "pwnm45t3r" and wtfpwn.

Another theory is that the term came into being through the misspelling of the word pawn, pawn being the lowest prized chess piece. Therefore, when you have pwned someone you have placed him or her in the lowest standing. However even this word has been purposefully used as "p4wn3d" as in "I p4wn3d j00 n00by"

Yet another theory is that the term "pwn" was initially associated with being "pistol-owned" in online multiplayer games. The term "pwn" gained notoriety within the Counterstrike community after a person with a superior weapon (AK-47, M-4A1, or other automatic weapon) was defeated with the use of a simple pistol. This progression of events would seem to indicate dominant skill in the player with the inferior pistol outplayed (owned) the player with superior firepower.

Hey guys sorry for the delayed response. Unfortunately I do have some bad news. The shipment arrived, but the Wisesports lights and a few other items I thought were in this particular shipment weren't included. I am currently working 24/7 trying to resolve the situation and am doing *everything* possible to get these lights over here, NOW, regardless of cost (to me).

Once again, I'm incredibly sorry for the delays and I am doing everything within my power to resolve the situation promptly.

Ouch. Thanks for the info. I'm in no big hurry since my FD is a toy I drive on the weekends, if that. I am interested in seeing the lighting difference though since the stockers suck.

ramy... im sorry but i have to ask. if they werent in the shipment from japan, then WHERE exactly are they? did wisesports not ship them? wheres the kink in the line? if its a problem with wisesports not getting them out then just request a refund from them. if the parts have left wisesports then are they in a storeroom somewhere? just wondering

 

Im still waiting on my stuff too ramy. I think i been patient enough and i know you been trying hard but if my stuff was available for pickup 3 weeks ago when you were local, how come its not in my hands now?

I misunderstood the situation. Ramy and I have came to an understanding with no confusion.

 

Not that I'm upset with the situation since I know the lights will come in eventually, I did an impulse buy on the ebay lights. I wanted to compare them to the Wise Sport lenses as well as have a pair of lights I can practice install the HID h4's in before getting the real ones in.

Still looking forward to Ramy's GB

oh crap, i've moved since the group buy started...ha. ramy, i'm near you now maybe i'll just swing by and pick it up. i'll wait til everything gets resolved. thanks.

 

I got the e-bay lights in and installed. Who else was it that bought them from e-bay since I can't seem to get mine to line up worth a damn. The stock lights seem to cross each other inregards to the beam when your driving in the fog or it seems that way to me. Hopefully I'll have more luck with the Wisesport lenses. But the car looks better with them on, more modern having the clear lenses.
