Right now the radiator core is being prototyped and the PS cooler bracket and R1 oil line adapter is complete. Once the radiator core is in (which could be another month), the IC can be fitted and mocked up as well as the A/C brackets and fittings.
It's a slow process but the wait will be worth it.

The kit is going to be designed so you don't have to do any permanent modification to the engine bay, with the exception of bending an A/C line (If you have it). The objective is to make this a bolt in kit. I think anyone who has done modifications before should be able to tackle the V-mount install. We plan on making some sort of instructions to go along with everything.

One of our objectives with the VMount kit is to retain all accessories if the customer wants, so AC will function properly. You will however need to have your AC system drained before the install, and then have it re-charged after the VMount is in. There should be plenty of local shops in your area that can do this for you.

Would the custom radiator work by itself with the stock IC?

^^^ No.

V-mounts are a SYSTEM that incorporates a radiator and an IC.

well it is a system, but if you think about it, the stock IC would probably fit with the orientation of the radiator. Either way, the radiator will not be sold separately. I guess if you used a stock IC with a V-mount radiator it would therefore be a Y-mount...sort of.

The V-Mounted is a hybrid system, developed to provide the same superior air cooling as a front mounted intercooler, yet still retain the short intake piping as a top mounted intercooler (what we have stock). The IC is mounted directly in front of the engine at an angle while the radiator below the IC at also at an angle, tilted back and almsot touchin the motor. the basic shape resembles a " > " or a sizeways V.

Now, the way this works is with the use of the ducts infront of the car, (bumper), which creates a Ram-Air effect causing the air to rush through the IC and Rad. The Air is usually removed via a hood vent or allowed to exit underneath the car.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong...

basically a vmount kit includes an upgraded radiator and intercooler, and then mounts them in a sideways "V" shape just behind the front bumper...

here, i shouldn't do this but i'll reveal some of our top-secret, very detailed blueprints of the kit so you can see what I'm talking about...

The top picture shows how the stock intercooler (yellow) and radiator (blue) are setup in the engine bay, one behind the other in pretty much a vertical position (actually they're tilted a little more but you get the idea)

The bottom picture represents how they will sit once you install a Vmount kit, this is beneficial for more airflow to both the intercooler and radiator... plus it looks pretty cool when you open the hood haha

Charlie,
I think your top diagram would be a front-mount setup, not a stock or stock-mount setup.

The pic is taken from HKS for their V-mount system. Blue is the Intercooler, Pink is the radiator and green is the a/c condenser. The back line is a metal plate that act as an air scoop to divert
the flow of air to the bottom.

Davin,
We're waiting on the radiator to be complete, it's taking forever. Once the radiator is complete things should progress pretty well. Why do you want progress pics? I'd rather post complete pics

Any idea when you guys will be selling this kit? Normally I would be patient but the koyo radiator in my current rotary extreme v-mount kit failed and replacing it might be a hard thing to do... Thanks
