Wheres my Vin?

Hey guys i cant find my VIN?

Ive found the E-FD3S --- ---, is this it? it seems a bit short? Where is located?

Where you looking? Its in a few places. #1 easy place to find it is the SHOKAN, if you cant figure that out lift the hood its on the firewall, stamped into it and sometimes on a plate depends.

It's mostly in the exact same places where you'd find the VIN on the US cars, Firewall, door seal, title. Will be something along the lines of FD-3466

Im totally lost. You have the car right? You have the Shokan right? What more do you need to know? History? No services like that I know of in Japan

Yeah I never heard of a place that actually tracks VIN's for Carfax type reports in Japan

the 1st number will tell you what japanese version it is, ie FD3S- 123456, would be a version 1 car

all that stuff you read about decoding vins is for non-japanese market cars with really really long vins that have year produced codes built into them etc

If you take the VIN into a dealership they will be able to give you information about the car. I don't see why you'd need to though - version/type info should be on the white sticker in the drivers' door area, and on the shaken forms, sale forms, etc.
