I agree

I have a year and 1/2 left here in Oki, which in my opinion is more than enough time to research every possibility to import a FD. I'm already making my phone calls to differant RI's. One thing I will be having available for the importation process is a similar model FD in the U.S. to be used as parts. This should make things easier when the RI needs to change parts out on the vehicle.

I'll make a post of everything I did from start to end so everyone else will have better info on the process.

It's my understanding that any vehicle can be imported, however only certain approved ones can be used for road usage.

Thus breaking it down into the 3 categories
-Race
-Road
-Show

true, but I'll be attempting to go the legal route. I want to be able to drive my 7 on the road and not worry about the 5-O for a change :-)

I still have seen a few with plates and being driven in the states. If you can get plates for the frucker then your 90% legal, since just getting is past customs is 89% of the BS haha

You can always put that nasty looking SCOOT kit on your FD and import it as a KIT car.

OMFG. Why not.... go to a junk yard, pick up a '93 NA FD3S shell, import your monster over as a "race" car, then swap vins and say it got stolen? God i sound like a stupid 5 year old, but...with a respray, why not? There is a TON of RHD swap USDM cars running around, so say that you did a conversion!
