o ****! that looks like a spirit R !!!!!! hmmmm if my computer could display the charcters i could translate for you....hmmmm i'll copy the link for my roomate ( japanese exchange student) and i'll look it up on his laptop. judging by the second row in the orange box colum i see rx7 then some boxes, r, boxes, a. my guess is that its a rx7 spirit r type a. one of the very last of 1500 units to roll off the line. they were divided into 3 forms the type a, b, and c with the "C" being a 2+2 version. there were only 500 of each type made and were the special/ final rx7's to roll of the production line before the lineage finally died out. if it is what i think it is and ur planning on getting it, and have the bank roll to get it- get it, its the last of its kind and deffinately a collectors car.

Yes it is a Spirit R and it is for sale.
Were you just posting this for fun or did you want information on how to buy it?

Well, it was more for fun since I dont have the cash - yet. But it would be great to get some basic informations how cars are bought in Japan in general...

BTW: The babelfish-thing really is a good starter!

well if i was you, i would look for a import company that will do it for you. Its a big, difficult process buying from a caryard, especially with the language barrier. there are plenty of import companies around, i know a good one in Osaka. Are you from Austria or Australia?

hmmmm...isnt the bathrust and bathurst R model only produced as a tribute to the bathrust race that mazda won in AU in which the 7 held the first place finish for 3 year consequtively? and im pretty sure it was released before the spirit r but like the spirit r, only 500 units were produced. at the time it was produced it was the most powerfull rx-7 to be released i believe @ 280ps then the spirit r was released also boasting 280ps. now due to the japanese gentlemans act which states that a production car sold to the general public of japan cannot exceed 300ps. however, unrestricted im sure both of these great machines could easily lay down 300ps or more but i am unsure if both machines would put down eual HP figures if both were unrestricted. my guess is that they would be the same but yeah the only reason i would want the spirit r (especially the type a) is simply because its the last run of the line and was the final "special" model of the 7 lineage. for me it represents all of the 7's, from first gen to third gen, achivements gained overtime put into one final package. the 7 line couldn't have died off in a more better way. nissan has their z-tunes and spec nur, we rotards have our our spirit r's and bathurst's. as for toyota.....uh..well....yeah.............no clue with what the supra line died out with as a final production and special model build.

that was the type RB bathurst which was a tribute to mazda rx7 race on 96..thats a completely different bathurst
the 96 bathurst was a 265 bhp with red interior
the new bathurst is 280

Bathurst R was produced after the spirit r and its a lot more limited than the spirit R.
There are only 500 bathurst R s and 1500 spirit R s (type a b and c)

and ..damn that carbon trim, gearshift and handbrake looks damn sexy which on spirit r is just plain grey

and bathurst r and bathurst have adjustable suspension and spirit R does not :P

o i c heh heh thanks again for the insight. geez i wish the forum i was on when i was a 240sx owner were as knowledgeable and friendly(at the same time) as you guys. its kuz of guys like you that i can enjoy intellegent disscustions on this forum. anayways, i did a search for the 96 bathurst and wasnt able to some up with any images. what were the design differances between the 96 bathurst and the 2002 and the spirit r (type a only, i know the b's and c's didnt have as much goodies as the A). unlike the A-spec 7, i saw very little differences from the bathurst r(2002) and the spirit r type a.
