Smile new to Japan

Hows it going, My names Alex, I am from Australia and have recently come to Japan. I live in Minami-Rinkan in Kanagawa.

Yesterday I bought an FD with a few mods, and was wondering if anyone here thats into thrash lives around my area. It is my first FD, but I used in Australia I had a FC set-up for drift. I have added some pics.

So if anybody is down for hitting up Hakone or could give me some good pointers on setting up my FD, please mail me.

Thanks m(_ _)m

Alex

Hey Alex,
Well your FC must have been hard to miss driving down the road or at the track!

Have you snapped any pics of your new FD and have you figured out what mods it has? There seems to be quite a few guys around our kanagawa, Tokyo and Saitama with 7's. Do you have place to work on your FD? It can be a pain in the butt to find a decent place to work on your car in japan. Well that is to do heavy work like engine swaps or clutches etc. But other things can be done almost anywhere.

There are a handful of Gaijin that go to Hakone usually and there are always friendly japanese around to meet and talk cars with. I do not go to Hakone much because it is far from me but I do go to Tsukuba circuit and mountain a lot and if I dont have any friends to drive up with me I can usually meet someone new at those spots since owning a tuning car is not to common for Gaijin in Japan.

Welcome to Japan!

Tom

Tom,

Thanks for your reply dude. Yeah I am Half Japanese so I got family here and my uncle is a Motorcycle mechanic / electician so so I will work on my car at his joint... so plenty of tools (^ ^) b

I have one photo which I have attached. I love Hakone, Izuksyline is dope... which part of Kanagawa do you live in? PM me your email and next time ya go to hakone I'll meet ya there. DO you ever go to Fuji Speedway????

BigWIllieStyles,

errm I havent really had a good chance to go over the car yet... still waiting for a nice day when I am not working... unfortunately I am like rain man... it always rains on my days off.

Car has 2 way, trust cooler, cage, trust cooler, Hks coilovers, exhaust and all the other basic mods, but that is about all... feels pretty shitty compared with my FC, but as soon as I can Ill do a full service and get some more **** on there... Having said that it is a little borospec.. but its a drift car so if I do the right thing by it, its gonna get a lot worse ^ ^!

Thanks for ya replies, good to know there more rotary foreigners over here...

Yo Alex the car looks really clean and sounds like it has some decent parts on it.

I do not live in Kanagawa unfortunately. I live up in Saitama near Tsukuba circuit, and not far from nikko and or Honjo circuits. I do go to Fuji speedway from time to time. Maybe 3 or 4 times in a year I would estimate. But I have only been here in Japan for about a year and 8 months so that number may change.

I have been meaning to go and check out the Chichibu mountains sometime this spring. have you been out to Daikoku Futo at all yet? I am sure we could set up an RX-7 club members meet there and then head out to hakone or somewhere from there some weekend. I will post up a thread for event ideas and possible dates.

Saw it a few years ago, but haven't been to daikoku recently, been meaning too but I was told it got closed down cos the Yakuza had a big fight there, but apparently is up and running again, but with pigs and it shuts early. I live about an hour away from it so I will check it out when I get the chance!

Haha the car looks clean in the photo but its actaully a pig!
