New FD owner okinawa

Just got my 94FD friday night. I will have pictures soon, just been driving it for the most part. Are there any FD owners out here? We should get together. Feel free to stop me if you see me. I wil be easy to identify. My FD is a nice bright yellow with a carbon fiber wing.

Pictures coming soon.....

How do you like it so far? Where are you getting your car from?

For the most part I love it. Beautiful island plenty of eye candy. (can only look...married. ) Plenty of arcades with Maximum tune 3 dx, good food, and the best part is the jdm cars. I'm sure if you got that 7 you prolly seen a white one with a 99+ spec conversion and rims, parked sideways a lil past where you got yours. Kinda felt like the Devil Z from midnight wangan cause as soon as i got here that car and I connected but i thought it was a 99+ model and too much for me. So i was going to get the silver one at ride over and ended up checking the white one the same day. The dude was real cool and was like 4500 for it right now. Couldn't do it after i saw some dings on the passenger and the front bumper was scrapped missing a chunk. We talked and he showed me a 93 white one with titanium exhaust and stg3 clutch with 90+km on it. I was like nah...I like the other one. "How much for the dent removal, new or repaired bumper and the ti. exhaust off the other?" 7000, he said. I said SOLD! Jci, rd tax, are all done the exhaust has been swapped and they said they got a nice bumber but need a few days to fit the 99 spec signal lights. So I'm now patiently waiting. BTW it only has 48000km on it.

i remember seeing that one. I am not sure what else is in the car. Im not much of a car person. I will have one of mu friends look at it. Unfortunetly i have to take it back to the shop i have a wierd problem with it. It starts fine but as soon as i disengage the ebrake the car dies. I dont know what the problem is. It was running perfectly fine until yesterday. I called the shop and they said bring it in. Luckily it diead at my girlfriends place which near the shop. Hopefully they fix the issue. The car is nice and was running good. I have gotten a ton of compliments on it, even got an offer to buy it lol

I paid 9k for the car including jci and road tax insurance is another 1k

What year did you say your car was? Ride over (and any of the dealers on the main drag near any of the bases) are, usually, a giant scam. If you go away from the bases a bit, you can find amazing deals on cars. Sounds like you got a gem with that low of miles on it. If you are into driving, there will be an Autox type event at Nago Circuit on the 6th of June. Its an all day event, so you ahve to be there before 8 am. Price is 7500 yen unless you join the RCCA, then the price drops to 5500. Membership to the RCCA is 50 bucks for 1 year. Check out the RCCA website.

www.rccaokinawa.org. If you want more info or whatever, PM me. There are a ton of FD owners on Okinawa. Most are not on this forum though. Also, Zeroyon.com is a forum with mostly guys local to Okinawa and mainland Japan. There are people from all over the world though.

Sounds like a something I could do. It is a '94. Ride-Over has been pretty good to me. Turns out the engine block ground was loose. I tightened it, got it running and went over there. They are ordering a new one. Should be here in a couple days. I am lucky that my girlfriend is Okinawan and I know a British chick from mainland that speaks Japanese fluently. So between the two of them I have no problems.

I looked at an FD at Ride Over almost 3 years ago. The thing smoked like a champ on startup, had no coolant in the radiator, stumbled and stuttered at idle and, was leaking oil. They tried to sell it to me for 6k. Walked away and never went back. I know a lot of people that have paid WAY too much for cars from them. But, its your money. 9k is a lot for a 94, even with low miles. I got my 2000 for just a bit more than that. Owell, have fun with the car. Any plans for it?

No plans yet. I am too busy right now. One thing I was looking into doing was Auxliray injection using water. I read through this 13 page thread about the benefits of it.

Unfortunately all the dealers I visited didn't have any RX7s. I may have missed some out of the way places but all the spots I went to didn't have any. It seems like Skylines and Chaser/Tourers are the craze now. Oh, can't forget about the Celica/Curren.

When I was out here the last time from '00-'04 it was Silvia's and 180s.

[QUOTE=sactownbwoy;9213440]Ah, forgot about the B4's I see everywhere. Here are the pics. Just had her washed.[QUOTE]

On post it seems like B4s and skylines are the "coolest" cars to have. Every intersection you come to its a blue or white or black b4...automatic with an exhaust. And for some odd reason they like to push them as if they are doing something. A friend of mine bought what...a b4 and shortly after a wrx. Hes never owned a sport/racing type of vehicle and has only owned them for maybe a month and says, "Dude, I'm sticking to subarus and AWD for the rest of my life." Now hes complaining about GC8 parts being scarce and his clutch may be going out. Which I already told em the first day he got it and I drove it...nooblet. Anyway glad to see you washed her Sactown. I also checked out the RCCA site and it didnt mention an event for june. At least not yet.

Event information. http://rccaokinawa.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=71
Directions to Nago Circuit.
Go North on 58 or the expressway. Keep going past the McD's on the right and the left. Keep going until you pass a Mitsubishi gas station. Keep going a bit further and you will see a giant mushroom on the left side. It is JUST after a stoplight. The mushroom is a bus stop. Take a right at that light. Go up the mountain until it levels off. You will see a white wall, fresh blacktop that you will have to U-turn into. That is the entrance to the "track".

Be there early. If you go up and dont drive, prepare to get your ***** busted. I dont think I will be there. I may be in Hawaii for an evaluation for surgery.

appreciate the info. I probably will not drive mine for I'm still waiting for her to come out of paint...Dont wanna mess it up the first week I receive it. But I do have a couple friends friends who recently purchased a couple wrxs, maybe I can drive one of theirs and just pay the driver fee...if not I will still go to spectate and get a feel for it.

There is very little chance for you to mess up the paint. Just take it easy and dont smoke the cones.
